Mr. Stewart Scott Jr., 69, of Yeo Neck in Melfa, went to work his “Scotty” charm on the angels Sunday, Feb. 20, 2022. Born Feb. 9, 1953, in Nassawadox and raised in Onancock, he was the son of Ann Williams Scott, of Onancock, and the late Stewart Scott.

Scotty graduated from Onancock High School and attended North Carolina Wesleyan College, where he received his bachelor’s degree in mathematics. Over the years, his myriad of occupations ranged from owner and operator of the former Townhouse Restaurant to supervisor with Verizon, and of course, his all-time favorite, grass cutter extraordinaire. Never one to beat around the bush, Scotty preferred to tell it like it was and did so with just enough wit and charisma to get by with anything. He was a friend to all and never went anywhere that he didn’t have someone laughing and several blushing.

Though he accomplished much in his life, he was most proud of his boys, the beautiful lives they’ve built, and especially the perfect grandchildren they gave him.

In addition to his mother, Scotty is survived by his wife, Carrie Elizabeth “Beth” Scott; sons, Robert “Chase” Scott and his wife, Katey, of Eastville, and William “Luke” Scott and his wife, Kristen, of Parksley; brother, Davis Scott, and his family; grandchildren, Lily, Camden, Lucas, Trower, and Carrie Ann; in-laws, Willie Edward and Jackie Mears; and many lifelong friends.

To honor his wish for everyone to remember him the way he was, no public service will be held.

Memory tributes may be shared with the family at www.williamsfuneralhomes.com

Arrangements are by the Williams-Onancock Funeral Home.
