Warriors Defeated in Regionals

The Nandua girls basketball team traveled to King William Friday, Feb. 18, for a regional tournament matchup. The Lady Warriors were unable to take down the Cavaliers, losing 70-28 and ending the season with a final record of 6-10 and second in the Eastern Shore District. 

Nandua’s girls basketball will bring back most of its starters next season, except senior Bo Braxton. The Lady Warriors were led on offense this season by sophomore Reghan Hintz. 

The boys basketball team competed against Brunswick in Lawrenceville, Va., Friday, Feb. 18, for the first round of regional play. The Warriors were defeated by the Bulldogs with a final score of 67-47, bringing its season to an end. 

Jeremiah Riley led the team in scoring this season, averaging 21 points per game. He averaged 3.7 assists and two steals per game, leading the team in those categories as well. Ny’zir Dix led the Warriors in rebounds this season with an average of five rebounds per game. Both Riley and Dix will be returning to the Warriors next season.
