Mrs. Dorothy M. Poulson, 83, of Horntown, departed this life Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022, at her residence.
Born in Horntown, Dorothy was the fourth child of six born to Bernie Johnson and Clara Pitts Johnson Marshall, both now deceased. She was affectionately known as “Dot Mae” by her family and friends. She was a member of New Beginnings U.M. Church in Wattsville. Dorothy held various laborer positions and retired from Tyson Foods, later working at the Chincoteague Bay Fieldstation.
She was married to the late Hoover Poulson.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 26, 2022, at the New Beginnings U.M. Church, Wattsville, with the Rev. Harold E. White Sr. officiating. Interment was in the Dea’s Chapel Cemetery, Horntown.
Her memory lives in her sons, Timothy Johnson and Hoover Poulson; stepchildren, Phoebe Jackson, Bessie Pettit, and Vanessa Foster; two grandchildren; two great-grandsons; sisters, Mabel Green and Martha Tull; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous friends.
Arrangements are by the Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac.
