Yellow Jackets Baseball Team Gets a Huge Win Against Franklin

The Northampton Yellow Jackets varsity baseball team hosted its first home game of the season Friday, March 18. They faced the Franklin Broncos and won the matchup 20-3.

The Yellow Jackets built an 8-0 lead in the first inning. The second inning was scoreless and over the next two and a half innings, the Yellow Jackets outscored the Broncos 12-3 to close out the game.

Stephen Matlack pitched the first three innings, allowing one hit, walking seven batters, and striking out four. Aron Price pitched in relief, giving up no hits, walking one batter, and striking out six batters. 

Romano Onley led the offense with two hits in three at bats, three RBIs, and three runs. Alex Courtney had two hits, one RBI, and three runs. Bradyn Buryn earned two hits, one RBI, and one run. Price had one hit, four RBIs, and two runs. Tanner Feltes earned one hit, one RBI, and two runs. Nicolas Sawyer had one hit, one RBI, and one run. Jayden Dilley earned one hit, three RBIs, and one run. Porter Spence had one hit and two runs.

The Yellow Jackets will play their second home game of the season against Colonial Beach High School Friday, March 25. The game starts at 4:30 p.m.
