The Northampton Yellow Jackets girls varsity soccer team faced  Northumberland High School last Friday, March 25. The Yellow Jackets won a close game 2-1. Jacqueline Santos and Vashti Holmes each scored one goal.

Head coach Ernest Bethel thought positively of his team’s performance. “We are both good teams,” he said. “But I feel we have a tougher defense. With a tight game, it comes down to making stops on the defensive side and we did that. I’m very proud of them. It was a good win for us.”

The same evening, the Yellow Jackets boys varsity soccer team hosted Lancaster High School. Earlier that week, the Yellow Jackets traveled to Lancaster and walked away with an 8-0 victory. In this game, the Yellow Jackets defeated Lancaster once again 8-0, scoring four goals in each half. Diego Montalvo scored four goals, Thomas Dix scored three goals, and Kevin Maldonado scored one goal.
