Lady Firebirds Pick Up A Win Against Holly Grove Eagles

The Arcadia Varsity softball team hosted Holly Grove Christian School on Tuesday afternoon. Arcadia’s offense was on fire in the game recording 15 hits in the 15-2 victory. 

Jayda Tull showed up strong on offense going 2-for-3 at the plate with four RBIs on a single in the first, a single in the second, and a double in the fourth. Savannah McDonald, Logan Stapleton, Sydney Jester, and Brianna Montross each collected multiple hits for the Firebirds. Stapleton and Tull both recorded doubles in the game while McDonald added a triple. McDonald led the team with three hits in four at bats.

On the mound for Arcadia, Jester gave two innings of work to start the game recording five strikeouts and only giving up one hit and one run. Tull came in for three innings to close the game with seven strikeouts, allowing three hits and one run. Jester earned the win for the Firebirds. 

Arcadia Softball extends its impressive record to 5-1 with the big victory over Holly Grove Christian School. On Thursday, April 21, the Firebirds competed in an away game against district rival Nandua.
