Nandua Baseball Team Continues Undefeated in the District

The Chincoteague Ponies varsity baseball team hosted the Nandua Warriors on Tuesday, May 10. The two teams played hard through harsh weather conditions and high winds, but Nandua took the victory, 20-6. 

Aiden McIntyre earned the win on the mound for the Warriors. McIntyre threw a complete five-inning game, allowing six runs on seven hits with 11 strikeouts. 

The Warriors continued their dominate offense recording 14 hits on the day. Martin Savage led the team at bat going 3-for-3 with three RBIs. Tyler Greene, Brandon Adamos, Jacob Meilhammer, and Isaac Stodghill each had multiple hits for the Warriors in the big win. Stodghill led the team in RBIs driving in four runs on a single in the first inning and a single in the second.

Chincoteague collected a total of seven hits in the game, with Wyatt Revell recording two singles and a home run with two RBIs. Johnathan Holloway also had multiple hits for the Ponies. 

Nandua continues its undefeated district run with only two more district games to play. The Warriors extended its overall record to 13-2 on the year. The team competed again on Thursday, May 12, against Arcadia. On the same day, Chincoteague hosted the Northampton Yellow Jackets.
