Ponies Middle School Baseball Team Wins District

The Chincoteague Ponies middle school baseball team was crowned district champions. Both the Ponies and the Arcadia Firebirds had a 4-2 record, but the Ponies defeated the Firebirds in two close games that consisted of great pitching, defense, and hitting on both sides. The first game ended 6-5. The second game was tied in the bottom of the seventh inning until a Ponies’ runner scored the winning run from third base on a wild pitch. Submitted photo.
