Lady Firebirds Softball Team Records Big Win Over Yellow Jackets

The Lady Yellow Jackets hosted the Arcadia Firebirds Tuesday, May 17, for the final regular season district game of the season for both teams. The Lady Firebirds were dominate on offense starting in the second inning, as the team put up eight runs against Northampton. Arcadia collected a total of 19 hits in the 20-2 victory. 

Logan Stapleton led the Firebirds with an impressive day at the plate. Stapleton went 5-for-5 with four RBIs including two doubles. Bella Williams, Brianna Montross, Sydney Jester, and Savannah McDonald each recorded multiple hits for Arcadia. 

In the circle, Jester threw a complete five-inning game allowing only three hits and two runs with seven strikeouts. 

Northampton’s Mallory Hook, Peyton Sayers, and Marlena Dzurko each had one hit in the loss.

The Arcadia Firebirds will compete again on Friday, May 20, as they travel to Great Bridge High School. The team extends its record to 9-5 on the season.
