Mr. Joseph Lloyd Hendrickson, 84, born in Painter and a resident of Bay Minette, Ala., died Thursday, Aug. 4, 2022, at North Baldwin Infirmary. He was a retired educator and coach at Baldwin County High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force, having served during Vietnam.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Wolf Hendrickson, of Bay Minette; one son, Holmes Ashby Hendrickson (Kim), of Dothan, Ala.; one daughter, Ev Hendrickson Gunn, of Birmingham, Ala.; and three grandchildren, Maggie Gunn, of Austin, Texas, Rob Gunn, of Birmingham, and Ashby Hendrickson, of Dothan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Holmes “Jack” and Margaret Smith Hendrickson; and a brother, Michael Hendrickson.

Graveside services and burial were held Sunday, Aug. 7, 2022, at 3 p.m., at Campground United Methodist Cemetery in Sweetwater, Ala. A memorial service was held Monday, Aug. 8, 2022, at 1 p.m., at the First United Methodist Church in Bay Minette. The family received friends Monday, Aug. 8, 2022, from noon to 1 p.m., at the First United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Baldwin County High School Athletic Department, 1 Tiger Drive, Bay Minette, AL 36507.
