The National Weather Service has set its forecast for the Eastern Shore and Eastern Virginia as rain and wind associated with Hurricane Ian comes into the area.

The storm will weaken as it passes well west of the Eastern Shore.

Heavy rain, tidal flooding, and breezy to windy conditions along the coast will continue through tonight with impacts continuing into early next week.

The heaviest rain and strongest wind is expected to occur from this Friday afternoon and evening and winds.

Minor to moderate tidal flooding is expected Friday. Repeated flooding of coastal locations is likely from Saturday through Tuesday.

There is the potential for several inches of rain Friday and Satuday in addition to the tidal flooding. Flooding could make travel difficult in some areas.
