100th Anniversary Tea in Honor of the Cape Charles Memorial Library

The 100th Anniversary Committee is pleased to request the pleasure of your company at the 100th Anniversary Tea in Honor of the Cape Charles Memorial Library. The tea will be held on Sunday, March 24th , at 3 PM at the Cape Charles Christian School, 237 Tazewell Avenue, Cape Charles. The program promises to be informative and entertaining. The program, entitled Welcome to the Table: Culinary Traditions of the Eastern Shore, will be presented by Laura Vaughan, Monika Bridgforth and Sally Dickinson of the Barrier Islands Center, with their guests Louise Orlando and Norris Bowen, stars in the documentary “Welcome to the Table.” Louise is the proprietress of the new Bakery on Mason in Cape Charles, and Norris was the last baby born on Hog Island. Both have deep Eastern Shore roots and many experiences to share. Enjoy fine china, lovely decorations, congenial company, tasteful varieties of tea and culinary delights at the only Tea this year sponsored by the Friends of the Cape Charles Library and the Board of Trustees of the Library.
Reservations are required. Tickets are $20 apiece and are available beginning on February 18 at eventbrite.com online, or you may call 757-695-4192. There are no refunds and there is an additional processing charge of $2.03 if paying by credit card. Teas usually sell out so please make your reservations early.
You may purchase Anniversary items at the Tea. Anniversary tote bags, raffle tickets for the Anniversary quilt and an Anniversary book donation to the permanent collection of the Library, with your own personalized commemorative nameplate inside the book, will be available. The Barrier Islands Center will have copies of “Welcome to the Table” available.
