8th ANNUAL Cape Charles/Northampton County AFRICAN AMERICAN HERITAGE FESTIVAL

July 2 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Everyone is invited to join us for the Cape Charles-Northampton Heritage Festival which highlights the accomplishments of African Americans in Cape Charles and Northampton County in the past and heralds the evolving contributions of today’s leaders and history makers.  Co-sponsored by the Concerned Citizens of Cape Charles, a 501 (c) (3) organization, the goal of the Heritage Festival is to celebrate the legacy and history of African Americans, to encourage family members to return home, purchase and invest in their hometowns and actively engage in their neighborhoods.
Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, for six years, the Cape Charles/Northampton Heritage organization celebrated the Annual African American Heritage Festival to honor the history, legacy and continuing contribution of African Americans to the development of Cape Charles and Northampton County.  This weekend, as we continue to recover from the ongoing pandemic, we are “RETURNING WITH LOVE” to celebrate. The Heritage Festival includes:
Saturday, July 2, 2022, Noon to 4 PM:  Children’s Fun Day and Heritage Festival Cook Out:  Theme: “RETURNING WITH LOVE” at the Northampton County YWCA, 22257 Parsons Circle, Cape Charles.  Program in collaboration with the Northampton County YWCA featuring games, swimming,  relay races, music, and dancing.   If you haven’t been to the YWCA – now is the time!!
