Captain’s Cove holds 10th Annual Health & Safety Fair
Captain’s Cove will hold its 10th annual health and safety fair Saturday, August 3, 2019 from 8:30 a.m. until noon.
The fair, sponsored by the Captain’s Cove Community Emergency Response Team on the Eastern Shore, will be held at 3323 Dock Court in Greenbackville, Va.
Free health screenings provided by Atlantic General Hospital will include cholesterol, LDL, HDL, triglycerides and blood glucose levels (all require a 12 hour fast). Also blood pressure measurements, carotid artery scan, nutrition counseling, bone density, derma scan for sun damage of skin and sleep lab.
Eastern Shore Rural Health System will provide finger stick glucose tests and blood pressure readings and PRMC Pulmonary Department and Lifeline will be present.
Butler Shore Hearing will provide hearing tests and Lions Club will perform eye checkups.
Also attending will be the Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital, Riverside Shore Hospice and Health Services, Intrepid Home Health Care, Eastern Shore Department of Aging, Virginia Department of Veterans Services, MAC Inc., Hartley Hall Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Coast Guard Auxiliary, Greenbackville Volunteer Fire Dept., Chincoteague Island Family YMCA, and Island Chiropractic Center.
Stop by and visit the Sheriff’s table to learn about Project Lifesaver and DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) Programs.
Accomack County Health, Public Safety, and Environmental departments will also be in attendance.
