Chincoteague Island Theatre Company Performs A Bewitching Play
The Chincoteague Island Theatre Company (CITC) presents All Because of Agatha as its much-anticipated winter production on February 7, 8, 14, 15, and 16. Set in the 1950s, it is a funny play about a married couple who buy an old house even though it is haunted by a witch who was burned at the stake during the Salem Witch Trials. Knowing that the witch, Agatha Forbes, returns once every year at the same time, the new homeowners throw her a welcome party with hilarious results.
Like all CITC productions, All Because of Agatha comes to life through the talents of a dedicated local cast and crew, including director Lexi Hubb and popular CITC actors Justin Aruck, Maria Burns, Byrd Donaldson, Elizabeth Dook, Jan Garrett, Karen Kay, Cliff Murden, Thom Nolan, Spencer Novak, and Bill Troxler. Aruck also designed the set and lighting, Dook created the costumes, and Troxler arranged and composed the music.
All performances are at 7 pm at the Chincoteague Cultural Alliance’s Community Center for the Arts, 6309 Church Street. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at Sundial Books or H&H Pharmacy by cash or check, or by credit card online at ChincoteagueCA.org. Doors open at 6:30 and, new this year, there will be a cash bar offering beer and wine before the show and during intermission.
Tickets sell out quickly, so don’t wait. Enjoy special events on two evenings—a post-performance reception on opening night or a sweet treat for your sweetheart at the Valentine’s Day show.
