Chincoteague Theater Academy Day-Camp Offered in August
The Chincoteague Island Arts Organization, in partnership with the Lower Shore
Performing Arts Company, is offering a special summer day-camp experience for kids,
aged 8 to 15. “Broadway…at the Beach”, a week-long Theater Academy will be held
in the Island Theatre Annex, with instructional sessions from Monday, August 12 th to
Friday, August 16 th .
Guided by the company’s directors and actors, students will be taught character
development, voice, stage movement, play structure and improvisation as they learn
skits and songs from South Pacific, Pirates of Penzance, Peter Pan, and other shows.
On Saturday afternoon, August 17 th, “Broadway…at the Beach” concludes with
performances for families and friends.
Tuition is $125 per participant. Instruction will be held from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
each day. Drop-off is 8:30 a.m. with pick-up at 4:00 p.m. Each participant should
bring a bag lunch each day; drinks and snacks will be provided. The Island Theatre
Annex is located at 4076 Main St., Chincoteague.
