Eastern Shore of Virginia National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center Reopening

Beginning the weekend of July 2, 2022, the Eastern Shore of Virginia National Wildlife Refuge (ESVNWR) is excited to announce the public reopening of the Visitor Center on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 am until 4 pm.
The Visitor Center, located at 32205 Seaside Road, has an indoor wildlife observation deck
with over 12 interactive exhibits. These exhibits explain local ecology and provide insight into the US Fish and Wildlife Service’s role in local land stewardship, habitat conservation, and protecting native plant and animal species. Refuge staff is currently working to get the native pollinator garden planted to provide improved habitat and more opportunities for wildlife observation in the immediate area around the Visitors Center. There will be volunteers on hand to help introduce visitors to the Refuge, sign-out binoculars and field guides, and to provide ESVNWR and lighthouse stamps.
During the week, the Refuge Headquarters at 5003 Hallett Circle, is open from 8-4 for general information, to provide stamps, and for boaters to purchase annual Wise Point boat ramp passes.
