Free Seedling Giveaway

A&N Electric Cooperative is partnering with the Virginia Department of Forestry and the Eastern Shore Soil and Water Conservation District to distribute tree and shrub seedlings Saturday, May 1, from 9 a.m. to noon (or until supplies last), at the Eastern Shore Community College in Melfa and at the historic courthouse green in Eastville.
Seedlings will be set out with social distancing in mind and cooperative staff will be on hand to answer any questions. The cooperative is asking members of the public who would like to participate in the seedling giveaway to wear a mask and maintain at least six feet of distance between themselves and others.
The Eastern Shore Post is the only locally owned newspaper on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. It is published each Friday and 12,000 copies are distributed free to readers at hundreds of locations from Pocomoke, Md., and Chincoteague, Va., to Cape Charles, Va.
