NEA Big Read Program with Free Movie Screening

Worcester County Library Foundation, Inc. will launch its NEA Big Read
program in celebration of In the Heart of the Sea by Nathaniel Philbrick with a free movie screening on March 14 at 11 am, 2 pm and 5 pm at the Mar-Va Theater. The NEA Big Read in Worcester County is presented in partnership with the Mar-Va Theater, the Ocean City Life-Saving Station Museum, and the Worcester County Board of Education, with support from the National Endowment for the Arts.
An initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest, the NEA Big Read broadens our understanding of our world, our communities, and ourselves through the joy of sharing a good book.
Worcester County is one of 78 communities nationwide participating in the NEA Big Read. From March 1 – May 31, our community will celebrate In the Heart of the Sea by Nathaniel Philbrick with a full calendar of events including book discussions, creative writing, TED Talks, museum tours, a reader’s theater of Wreck of the Whaleship Essex, account logs, and movie events . Author Nathaniel Philbrick will discuss his book on April 2, at Stephen Decatur High School at 7 Pm, free to the community
