Relay for Life Virtual Kickoff

Relay for Life of Nandua will host a virtual kickoff for its 2021 fundraising season at 7 p.m.
Thursday, Feb. 18. Register at relayforlife.org/nanduava to receive the Zoom invitation.
During the kickoff party, cancer survivor Tee Wells will share his story. You’ll also learn
how to organize a new team; use the FUNdraising app; and much more. Door prizes will
be mailed after the meeting, and be sure to wear your best pajama bottoms for the
session because there will be a prize for that, too!
Relay for Life is the signature fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, and this year’s
local event will take place on Saturday, Sept. 11. Still have Relay Rewards points from last
year? They’ll roll over if you register now!
By participating in Relay for Life you will help:
Keep the American Cancer Society helpline open 24/7, providing cancer information and
resources, and answering questions about cancer and COVID-19 via phone, live chat,
and video chat;
Honor and continue to pay out all of the ACS cancer research awards. Fulfilling these
commitments means that we do not stop learning about cancer and moving discoveries
forward;
Meet challenges with innovation. Although COVID-19 forced us to temporarily suspend
our Hope Lodge® and Road To Recovery® programs, we were able to reassign nearly
one-third of our Reach To Recovery volunteers to connect with breast cancer survivors
through a new app.
