The Polar Duck Dip

The Polar Duck Dip will be Saturday, Jan. 22, at Camp Occohannock on the Bay. Doors open at 11 a.m. and the dip begins at noon. For more information, go to www.ootbay.org

Camp Occohannock, located in Belle Haven, Virginia will host it’s annual fundraiser, the Polar Duck Dip, January 22, 2022. They hope, in order to meet their current budget demands, the Duck Dip will bring in a minimum of $20,000. This would help them successfully operate through 2022 and give the needed push that will enable them to provide quality programming to children and youth. You could even wear a costume to dip; they are offering a prize for the most original. Do you love ice cream? The dipper who raises the most money for the Camp will receive a quart a month for one year from Island Creamery on Chincoteague. Are you willing to help sponsor a dipper? Or, just make a donation? This event will be filled with faith, fun, and good food, and the staff and participants will adhere to COVID-19 restrictions. Even if you are unable to plunge,come participate in the silent auction held during the dip. Great items will go to the highest bidder. To list a few: Shorebird carvings by David Bundick and Marty Bull, a bronze Turner Sculpture of an eagle in flight. All items can be viewed on the Camp’s webpage www.ootbay.org.
