Whole Farm Planning Workshop

A Whole Farm Planning workshop will be held at Barrier Islands Center, 7295 Young Street, Machipongo, VA Wed, February 19th, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. The workshop is part of the Small Farm Outreach Program, part of the Virginia Cooperative Extension program at Virginia State University (VSU).

Whole Farm Planning puts beginning farmers in a good position to maintain or improve profitability while enhancing their sustainability. Whole Farm Planning helps beginning farmers define long-and short-term goals to help you achieve a better quality of life at home and in your community. There will be an opportunity to learn from VSU Small Farm Outreach Agents as they review the Whole Farm Planning manual, Cooperative Extension Agents for the county who can connect you with local resources, Farm Credit representatives with instruction on how you can develop a simple, one-page business plan, and USDA agency representatives who will share information about available services and resources for farmers.
