In response to the “ditch garbage” letter to the editor (“Trash Pollutes Our Treasure,” March 12), the previous sheriff offered a trash cleanup work detail for inmates. I was fortunate to be part of that program in which we averaged 600-1,000 pounds of roadside garbage a day.
It occurs to me that, assuming we have access to a vehicle, we can get out for a drive in the beautiful country.
I find, however, all the “ditch garbage” depresses me more. What is it? Accidents happen when something flies out the window, but with the best convenience...
